Hawaii Kai Real Estate
Honolulu, capitol city of Hawaii, offers much more than just a strong tourist draw each year. While it's true that Honolulu is highly attractive for it's busy-city atmosphere, extensive shopping opportunities, expansive selection of casual and fine dining, and easy access to Waikiki Beach and water sports, the city also features a number of smaller, more intimate neighborhood settings. For example, Hawaii Kai real estate is particularly attractive to both real estate investors and residents seeking a home near the bustle and activity of this exciting capitol city.
Mainly residential in nature, Hawaii Kai real estate is set in the largest of several communities on the eastern end of Oahu. Henry J. Kaiser was the primary developer for the area in the mid-1900s, and based the design on the ancient Hawaiian Maunalua wetlands area known as Kuapa. The Koko Marina in Hawaii Kai was dredged from Kuapa Pond in the late 1950s, which created a marine preserve inland while also filling and clearing the pond margins. Within a couple of years, the 500-plus-acre area was developed into residential tracts, a marina, and a unique jetty-type layout, creating truly extraordinary home sites.
Today, the entire area has been developed, including land well into the inland portion of the region. Hawaii Kai real estate is in high demand for its scenic views, local Hawaii Kai golf course, and convenient water access. Additionally, Hawaii Kai is located near a beautifully scenic part of Oahu known as Koko Head and Koko Head Park. Continue traveling eastward and you'll eventually reach beautiful Makapu'u Point.
If the unique setting and development of Hawaii Kai real estate sounds like an ideal choice for your next home, second home, retirement dwelling or investment property, contact the local real estate professionals at Dower Realty Premier Properties Inc.
